Teachers:
Create your own educational games!
Do you have an idea for a digital game that you would like play with your students? Maybe you have a favorite activity you repeat year after year with your class that can provide some inspiration! Now, if only you had a tech-savvy niece or nephew that could code it!
Just kidding! Pubbly does all the heavy lifting to create games and learning activities based on concepts submitted by teachers. These games can run on desktop, in an app, or on your interactive whiteboard and you can share them with other educators! Ready to give it a try?
Read the case study below to learn more.
Case Study: Clean up the park! (and learn sight words!)

Game Concept by Dawn K., Kindergarten teacher, Millburn, New Jersey
Title: Recycling Game
Initial Idea:
Dawn’s idea was to have a recycling activity that incorporated the sight words that the students had been working on during the last part of the year. The activity would take place in a park. The park would have items all around that the children could “pick up” by dragging and dropping.
The bins would be clearly marked so that children would be able to sort the items found in the park. This action would then trigger a simple exercise with sight words that went along with the found item. Sight words would be in a similar sentence structure: This is a can. This is a bottle.
Maybe children could drag the words into place?
Maybe something funny would happen at the end of the activity as a reward for the work that they were doing?
What PUBBLY did:
After meeting with Dawn over Zoom, we developed the activity here LINK. After all the trash is placed and the sentences are formed, you will return to the park and see a “trash pick up” button. The “payoff” or “reward” for all the good work is the garbage truck rolling in to collect the recyclables and trash — who is driving the truck? You! Your teaching assistant! Your cat! Random workers are driving the truck . . . play again to see other drivers.

Your Turn!
We are in beta right now so we are creating games just for you. Eventually, you will be able to build them on your own or repurpose other teacher’s games. “Will there be royalties?” you ask. We think that’s a great idea! Our pilot teachers will help us form our approach around that. Right now, we are working with teachers like you and creating the games for FREE so you can use them in your classroom to see how it goes. Eventually, when we start to charge for the games, teachers that have contributed to the process will be able to earn additional income from their game ideas. How cool is that?!?
If you are interested in creating a game or activity with us . . . book an appointment in the Calendly link below or send us an email at — teachers @ pubbly.com
Email us an idea
It can be scribbled on a napkin or typed out in an email. Just let us know what you are trying to do and what you think should happen onscreen. What images would like to see? Which learning objectives will you cover? Your game will be private and only accessible to you and your students.
Meet with the team
If we can visualize your game and choose to make it happen, we will meet with you for a half hour to pick your brain and ask questions. This will be brainstorming at its best with a dedicated team of creatives that can help bring your vision to life! Once we think we fully grasp the concept, we will get to work and build it!
Test link and tweak design
When we think we’ve basically nailed it, we will send you a link to check our progress. Usually, this stage requires a bit of back and forth to make sure we hit all the right marks. From there, you get to test it for real with your actual students! Be sure to let us know how that goes....adorable videos welcome!
